Established in 1969, Oakton Community College offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs. More than 10,000 students attend Oakton annually, taking advantage of 2,500 courses offered at two campuses in Des Plaines and Skokie, off-site, and online. Manufacturing initiatives include launching a mechatronics certificate, developing a “technical language” ESL class, creating a self-paced online technical math course, and expanding internship placements.
