Manufacture Your Future is a 5-day long exhibition meant to engage community members and students in a discussion about the manufacturing industry. The Gail Borden Library, located in Elgin, will host exhibits by local leading manufacturers from September 29 – October 3, 2014.

Manufacturing is growing and creating jobs in the Elgin area. The manufacturing sector offers rewarding professions for those individuals possessing suitable skills and credentials. The purpose of this fair is to show students and families what modern manufacturing is really like, and the wealth of opportunities that await them.

Exhibitors will be present in their booths on Wednesday, October 1, in order to talk with students and community members. In addition, students who are a part of School District U-46 will have the opportunity to tour different manufacturers in the area on Wednesday, October 1. Elgin Community College (ECC) is one site of many. ECC will host local high school students in order to allow them the opportunity to see the campus, and learn more about the various certificates and degrees in manufacturing that are available to them at the college.
