Danville Area Community College (DACC) recently dedicated the new Julius Hegeler II Advanced Technology Center. The ceremony took place on December 10, and was attended by Hegeler, faculty, local dignitaries and community members. The event marked the completion of the 18-month expansion of the college’s technology complex. Hegeler’s $3 million gift helped expand lab spaces for advanced manufacturing classes and programs such as mechatronics. Hegeler has a long history with the community, the college, and various youth initiatives and hopes the gift will serve to promote education, local industry, local job creation, and an overall better future for the community.
