Key Trends for Technology in Higher Education in 2015

This article describes some of the key technology trends that are likely to be found throughout higher education in 2015. The New Media Consortium Horizon Report: 2015 Higher Education Edition showcases these exciting new ways of learning. Key trends that will become part of higher education this year include: increased innovation; more collaboration and sharing of resources across institutions (such as what INAM is doing); use of metrics and data to measure and drive learning; more open educational resources with institutions sharing materials publicly; blending of in-person and online learning; and lectures to be provided online, with classroom time dedicated more to hands-on, experiential, or interpersonal interaction.
