Using some strong language, Illinois Governor Rauner recently stated his commitment to bring jobs to Illinois, and away from states that have been taking businesses away. The Governor singled out Indiana, as well as Wisconsin and Texas, as states that have been trying to “poach” from Illinois since 2011, when Illinois had to raise corporate taxes. Rauner stated that he wanted to “rip the economic guts out of Indiana.” Representatives from Indiana maintain their confidence in the benefits of what they are able to offer businesses vs. Illinois. Of course many of the businesses in the two states rely on each other and need each other to be successful, but it is good to see that the leadership of both states are passionate about improving employment rates as well as the economy.
