Ferrara Candy Company is expanding its manufacturing facilities in Illinois. In order to help meet customer needs, the company is increasing manufacturing capacity and capabilities at its Bellwood facility and opening a new packaging center in Bolingbrook. This will help them to expand their product offerings, optimize their manufacturing capabilities, and expand their network. The expansion will include an infrastructure build-out and new state-of-the-art technology. Over 100 new jobs are expected to be created over the next 18 months. The Bolingbrook expansion builds onto a 750,000 square foot space that the company moved into last April. Much of the expansion is necessary to meet Walmart’s commitment to purchase an additional $250 billion in US products by 2023. According to Cindi Marsiglio, Vice President of US Manufacturing for Walmart, “suppliers like Ferrara are making a significant impact in communities across the country and creating much needed US jobs.” Now go get yourself a box of Lemonheads to celebrate.
