On Saturday, May 2, Triton College hosts its third annual Step for Vets community walk and donation drive. The event seeks to end homelessness for veterans, and help them transition back into their communities. Corey Williams, Dean of Student Services at Triton, says “my hope is that through an event like this we are able to bring awareness to the issue and provide a service to our veterans that have made it possible for us to have so many freedoms.” The day will start with an opening ceremony, continue with a warm-up Zumba class, and then the walk. The event will also include an activities area for kids, a DJ, information booths, and refreshments. Donations will be accepted throughout the day.
