One issue seems to have bi-partisan support in Congress, and that is manufacturing. The Manufacturing Jobs for America (MJA) campaign was recently introduced by Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del) Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis) to support US manufacturing. Eight out of 36 bills introduced have been supported by both parties. These will include an initiative to create a national manufacturing strategy to strengthen the industry. Congress is set to reintroduce some of the bills that did not have support last year, including strengthening America’s workforce, increasing access to international markets, creating conditions for businesses to grow, and expanding access to capital. The bills will also seek to close the skills gap and change misconceptions about manufacturing and focus on its high-tech nature.
