A merger of two Illinois battery makers will allow the new, larger company to better serve a global customer base of 200 companies covering a wide range of industries. Woodridge-based Palladium Energy, a manufacturer of lithium battery packs and power systems, will merge with Westchester-based ICCNexergy, a provider of charging and power solutions. The company will initially be called ICCNexergy+Palladium, and it will employ 3,300 workers globally and 200 locally through a total of 14 facilities and 435,000 square feet of manufacturing space. A new local location is still to be determined and a rebrand of the company is planned.
