In this interview, Elise Couston, Senior Managing Director at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, interviewed one of the event’s panel speakers, Dave Pickering, Global VP of Research – Industrial Manufacturing at Industrial Info Resources. In this interview, Pickering speaks about some of the current trends in manufacturing, including: re-shoring of manufacturers; the use of existing plants for re-shoring companies (rather than new construction); the resurgence of textile companies; European automakers moving more of their manufacturing to the US; the rise in 3D manufacturing; and the opening of companies in lower income areas to provide jobs, training, and growth in those communities.
