Skills Gap in Chicago

JPMorgan Chase & Co. recently released a report “Growing Skills for a Growing Chicago” which details the skills gap in “middle-skills” jobs (jobs requiring more than a high school diploma but less than a Bachelor’s degree). The report states that Chicago’s economy is growing but there is a lack of a skilled workforce to fill many of the open jobs. To help fill the gap, City Colleges of Chicago recently launched its College to Careers program. The program will help educate a new workforce for the current and future marketplace.
