FANUC America Corporation recently introduced a new collaborative robot. FANUC CR-35iA is a new robot that was designed to work safely in a shared workspace with humans, and does not require the use of safety fences. The robot can work alongside humans in applications requiring heavy and repetitive lifting, including: machine tending, handling heavy payloads, higher payload mechanical assembly, palletizing, packing, and tote and carton handling. The robot is already being used in production at General Motors and will be available for general release in North America in late 2015.
