McHenry County College has added new programs based on the needs of local employers. Among the new programs is a new Industrial Maintenance Certification program that was created in order to fill a skills gap in the area. The college also started a non-credited welding boot camp to provide skills to those not pursuing a certificate. CNC machining and robotics programs were similarly developed at the college to address local industry need. Companies working with the college have been able to help in the development of the programs and curricula, providing instructors, equipment and grants.
