McHenry County businesses, McHenry County College, the Workforce Network, and area high schools are collaborating on a number of initiatives to help build opportunity throughout the community. TheseĀ are designed to prepare the community for the future, educating students on STEM and technology, which will help fill the skills gap. Some of the initiatives include: dual credit programs between high schools and McHenry County College for manufacturing and other fields; manufacturing internship programs; a field trip for 1,200 students to the International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago; Manufacturing Day events; workforce networking events; and more.
