Joe T. asks…

Q: Will mechatronics help me obtain a position maintaining CNC and other types of manufacturing machines currently in use in the manufacturing sectors?

A: Not really.  Mechatronics is the application of Mechanical, Electronics, and Robotics knowledge in the manufacture of production systems or machinery.  Usually this addresses the equipment downstream in the manufacturing process, not at the point of manufacture.  For repair of CNC or other metalworking equipment, a better career path would be in Industrial Maintenance.  There you learn all about pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, pumps, motors, preventive maintenance techniques, and more.

And jobs in this field appear plentiful, too.  From entry level to those with prior experience, personnel are needed in manufacturing and packaging facilities.
