Adam L. asks….

Q. My student debt is out of control. Is Illinois the highest in student loans?

A. We’re pretty high, 11th on the list. But consider this: four year colleges with room and board required racks up student and parent debt like crazy. However, one can reduce that debt by going to a Community College for a couple of years and then transferring to a 4 year college. I did that and my diploma states University of Illinois, not two years here and three years there.
Also, you can learn a trade by attending a Community College and earn certificates or a two year degree. Many careers require only that. See your counselor for more details. Click Here for Link to Article/Chart
