Construction has begun on the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute in Chicago. The institute will bring together hands-on manufacturing, advanced technology, leading-edge design, robotics, research and development. Senator Dick Durbin and Congresswoman Cheri Bustos discussed the institute in Peoria on Wednesday. Durbin stated that Peoria was a consideration for one of many planned regional manufacturing hubs that will operate as a part of the center.
