On Wednesday, April 8, Kishwaukee College in Malta hosted its annual career fair to bring together job seekers and local employers. 56 companies from DeKalb, Ogle, and surrounding counties were in attendance this year, 18 of which were new to the event. Among those who were seeking employment opportunities was Scott Sites, an eight-year military veteran who has been seeking work in the automotive industry. Sites was able to take advantage of various resources and networking opportunities with help from US Department of Veterans Affairs counselor, Josh Homuth. The College’s Career Center offered pre-event workshops on best practices for resumes and interview techniques. In two months, Kishwaukee College will survey the employers to see how many people they hired as a result of the fair.
