On March 21, Triton College hosted their Tech Savvy event for more than 160 local girls. The event invited girls fromĀ grades 6-9 to learn more about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) topics. Guest speakers led discussions about technology and careers. The girls participated in hands-on workshops, dealing with topics and technologies including: 3D printing, creating bird toys, DNA, chemistry, as well as public speaking, stress management and self-esteem. Parents and teachers also learned about how to best encourage STEM.
