Flossmoor couple, Charlene Stiglitz-Gordon and Dr. Murray Gordon, have been taking welding classes at Prairie State College for more than 40 years. They are not doing this in order to find jobs, but for the sake of creating their art. Charlene is a retired art teacher and Murray is a retired surgeon. The couple have been attending the classes purely for creative uses in their artwork, and over 40 years worth of sculptures can be found throughout their home. The couple is eager to continue attending classes at the college to develop some larger sculptural pieces. According to Stiglitz-Gordon, “Prairie State College is just a wonderful place. It’s wonderful to see so many people learning and developing their skills. We are very lucky to have such a terrific facility in our neighborhood.”
