A new challenge was recently posed to aerospace engineers and students in the GrabCAD community. The goal is to re-think the design of the CubeSat, a standard small research satellite, using 3D printing technology. GrabCAD is the world’s largest community of mechanical engineers. The challenge is being sponsored by Stratasys, a leading provider of 3D printing and additive manufacturing solutions, and its subsidiary, MakerBot. Winners will receive cash prizes and desktop 3D printers. Entries must be submitted by June 22, 2015.
