The highly anticipated UI Labs Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII) opened its doors this Monday in Chicago. The 64,000 square foot facility was developed as part of a $70 million dollar grant which hopes to reposition Chicago as a center for high-tech manufacturing. New products and technologies will be designed, developed, researched, and manufactured from the site.
