US Representative Rodney Davis recently stopped by Richland Community College to promote his Opportunity KNOCKS (Kindling New Options for Career and Knowledge Seekers) Act. This act would allow those receiving unemployment insurance benefits to also enroll in skills training programs that would make it easier for them to find jobs. The current system does not allow the benefits to continue when a person enrolls in training programs that are not approved under the Workforce Investment Act.
