Foreign manufacturers are coming in greater numbers to the US to manufacture a variety of their products. 3,500 German companies are here and employing 600,000 Americans. China is planning to spend a good share of $1 trillion on investments in manufacturing facilities. Many US companies have been re-shoring, bringing production back from overseas locations. This article addresses the renaissance in US manufacturing, and predicts that there will be a growing skills gap when jobs are opened and not filled. Many programs exist throughout the country that bridge educational programs with the needs of employers. (INAM is one of those programs, leading the charge in Illinois).
