Q: I’m interested in a Building Maintenance career. Are there jobs?

A: Indeed there are! Manufacturers are desperate for building and facility personnel as well as industrial and electrical machinery people. One manufacturer said that he must start succession planning at his firm as several older industrial maintenance people will be retiring in two years. He seeks students finishing certificates and/or degrees so he can start a training program for the preventive maintenance and servicing of his equipment. Other firms are looking for building maintenance personnel. I tell incoming students that this is a perfect time to be entering the Advanced Manufacturing disciplines as jobs are plentiful and employers are competing for graduates.
